The current Board of the AHSA is saddened and concerned to read about the news from the former NSW Arabian Horse Association Inc, committee about their AGM resolution to close that Association.
The NSW committee requested that members respect the difficult decision and noted that no further correspondence will be entered into regarding the decision. We respect that decision.
The AHSA would, however, like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and applaud the previous efforts of all committee members, officials and volunteers. Over many years the NSW Association grew and developed a wide range of shows and events that were loved and supported by their members. Some of these shows were also widely recognised and praised on the domestic and international stages.
Many AHSA members have very fond memories of competing at these shows – the shows will be missed but the memories will remain.
The NSW committee members also advised that they “…will be available in the background to support any members who will wish to form a new committee and undertake these events”. They felt it was time to pass the reins on to the next generation.
The AHSA Board will also endeavor to support and assist any new committee or group of members who attempt to resurrect similar shows or events.
Without volunteers willing to stand for committee positions our Arabian industry is at risk – we need to support one another, and most importantly support our grass roots clubs, shows and committees. If any NSW members can volunteer or help the AHSA would like to hear from you and assist in that process if possible. Please contact Adam King in the first instance on 0438 412 878.

Clarification from the Arabian Horse Society of Australia (AHSA Ltd.)
Following our recent post (above) regarding the NSW Arabian Horse Association Inc. (NSWAHA Inc.), we’ve received several enquiries from members concerned about the status of the AHSA Ltd.
We would like to reassure all members and the broader community that the AHSA Ltd. is not closing. The Society remains active, strong, and committed to supporting the Arabian horse industry across Australia.
To clarify: the NSWAHA Inc. is an affiliated group of the AHSA Ltd., and it is NSWAHA Inc. that has made the independent decision to close. This decision does not affect the operations or stability of the AHSA Ltd.
We appreciate your ongoing support and encourage any members with questions to reach out directly. Let’s continue working together to support our community and the future of Arabian horse events.
