The Board has considered the Arabian Performance Index recording in view of the aims of the Society and after reviewing the excellent entries in classes where they have been eligible to compete together with Arabian Derivatives:
- There will be no change to the eligibility of API horses competing at Arabian Shows. At these events API horses are only eligible to compete in Open unrestricted events and in classes for API horses. They may also be used in Youth events.
- At Non-Arabian Shows, API horses will be considered equivalent to Arabian Derivatives and are eligible to compete in open Arabian Derivative classes. They remain ineligible to compete in Registry specific classes ie Arabian Pony, Anglo Arabian, Arabian Warmblood etc.
