Con Bouzianis
My name is Con Bouzianis and I nominate for a position on the AHSA Board of Directors currently up for election.
Since 1990, I have owned and developed Arabian horses under the prefix CONDEROSA ENDURANCE ARABIAN HORSE STUD. Over this time, I have campaigned my horses at the highest levels of endurance, flat racing, and showing, with endurance being my main field of competition. The satisfaction of breeding, raising, educating, and testing my horses is second to none.
This pursuit has taken me across Australia and internationally, proudly showcasing Australian Arabians and promoting their quality worldwide. Early in my journey, I achieved success at the Australian Championships with Liberty and Ridden classes. A highlight was in 2014 when one of my horses won the Australian leg of the International Arabian Flat Racing Series at Caulfield, part of a six-race global competition.
Beyond horses, I am a director of three investment companies and have worked for many years in my denture clinic as a Dental Prosthetist.
My aim in applying for this position is to give back to our incredible Arabians and strengthen the Society for future generations of horses and owners.
Thank you for your consideration.
Adam King
It has been my privilege to serve the Society for the past five years, including three as Chairman. During this time, I have worked to strengthen governance, ensure continuity, and guide the Society through periods of transition. My professional background as a Company Secretary and Board Director across diverse industries has equipped me with expertise in compliance, strategic planning, and risk management—skills I have consistently applied to safeguard the Society’s operations and reputation.
My connection to the Arabian horse spans nearly four decades. As a teenager, I founded King Estate and quickly became a familiar sight in the winner’s circle at shows across Australia. That early passion has evolved into lifelong advocacy, breeding and promoting both Purebred and Arabian Derivatives, and celebrating the breed’s athleticism, beauty, and versatility across Halter and Performance arenas.
I have served as President of the NSW Arabian Horse Association, contributed to national show leadership, and am a member of the AHSA National Judges Panel. Professionally, I have held senior roles in agribusiness with Elders and Nutrien Rural, specialising in change management and stakeholder engagement.
I remain committed to transparency, member engagement, and sustainable growth. If re-elected, I will continue to balance professional rigour with equine insight, ensuring the AHSA remains a trusted custodian of the Arabian horse and a vibrant, forward-looking community.
Madeleine Leva
I have been involved with Arabian horses for over 20 years in the capacity as an owner, competitor and judge. I currently own an Arabian Warmblood mare and Arabian Riding Pony who are both successful show horses.
I have a deep commitment to the preservation and responsible stewardship of the breed. Professionally, my experience in my profession as a teacher, with proven leadership and teamwork will be utilised to strengthen the society’s operations, enhance member engagement and support the sustainable future of the Arabian horse in Australia.
I seek to contribute to the Board’s strategic direction, ensuing the society continues to serve its members effectively while upholding the heritage and integrity of the Arabian breed.
Rod Strahan
I started breeding part Arabians whilst in high school and have been a member of the AHSA since the 1980s. I attended my first endurance ride in 1978 and have been a member of the Queensland Endurance Riders Association (QERA) since 1988. I have a long involvement in endurance competition as well as serving three two-year terms on the QERA State Management Committee and currently the Vice President.
I have a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Queensland (1996) followed by a career as an Agricultural Economist in agricultural analysis, development and policy in the Queensland Government, currently holding the position of Manager, Economics within the Department of Primary Industries.
I have been a member of the AHSA since the 1980s and am the owner/manager/worker of Shardell Arabian Stud, where I have bred over 250 horses, with approximately 130 horse exports. The stud typically runs between 70 and 85 horses, focusing on Crabbet/Egyptian cross lines suited for endurance competition.
I have a depth of experience in agriculture, equestrian sport, and Arabian horse breeding and I look forward to contributing to the AHSA Board with a positive focus.
Carolyn Potts
As the South Australian Director for the past two years, I again offer my professional expertise to promote our Arabians and Derivatives, while encouraging and supporting our Youth.
During my time on the Board, I have actively contributed to Promotions, the Australian Arabian National Championships, the Judges Organising Committee, and general Board matters. Having exhibited, and bred Arabians since the 1960s, I understand the challenges faced by smaller breeders and exhibitors in today’s economic and environmental climate.
I have served on numerous committees, taking both leadership and hands-on roles in organising shows, seminars, and promotional events. My work as a Marketing Consultant has involved the creation and delivery of internationally recognised marketing and promotional campaigns. I have also travelled internationally including WAHO, attending many shows and events overseas, as a breeder/judge gaining valuable insights from fellow breeders and owners worldwide.
I am strongly committed to good governance, transparency, corporate accountability, and open communication with members.
Throughout my career, I have held senior roles including CEO of member-based organisations, Marketing Manager for the Westfield Group, and CEO & Company Secretary of a South Australian company with a weekly turnover of $2.4 million. I currently serve on a semi-government advisory committee.
Richard Shipton
I have been actively involved with Arabians for over 30 years, serving the South Australian Arabian Riders and Breeders Society in many roles, including Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary, Publicity Officer, and committee member. I have contributed extensively to the organisation of shows and events, and I am widely recognised across Australia for my work as a Ring Announcer. Since the early 1990s, I have announced for numerous societies in South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, and at the Australian Arabian National Championships.
My experience extends beyond the horse community, with a long association on boards and committees, including representation on a University Student Union Board of Management. Professionally, I am the IT, Facilities, and Procurement Manager for Maritime Constructions Pty Ltd in South Australia.
As a past Director of the Arabian Horse Society, I am deeply familiar with the requirements of the role, particularly the need to promote and market our Society in a unique and complex environment. I remain committed to ensuring breeders, owners, and members receive the best possible service.
With a Diploma in Management and certificates in OHS and business, I bring the skills, knowledge, and dedication necessary to help manage and grow the Arabian Horse Society of Australia.
Robyn Parker
As a second-generation breeder of Arabian horses, I bring a lifetime of involvement within the Arabian community. Growing up in the Hawkesbury region of New South Wales, my family’s stud and the broader equestrian network shaped my values of dedication, friendship, hard work, and respect.
Working alongside my family instilled not only horsemanship but also the importance of teamwork, tradition, and commitment to the Arabian community. My lifelong passion led me to continue breeding under our stud name, Naaman, developing a successful program that has flourished for more than 30 years. Naaman-bred horses have proudly represented the Arabian industry across multiple disciplines, achieving success at the Australian Arabian National Championships, East Coast Championships, Royal shows, Grand Nationals, dressage, endurance, and eventing.
I remain a dedicated advocate for the Arabian horse industry, believing the breed’s temperament, beauty, and athleticism lend themselves to success across countless disciplines. My professional background in Community Services Management, where I held senior leadership roles, equips me to promote education, engagement, and sustainability for the Society.
As a National Panel Judge, I have judged extensively across Australia and New Zealand, committed to integrity, professionalism, and continuous learning. I offer both expertise and vision to support the Arabian Horse Society’s future.
Nadine Frampton
Horses have shaped my life since childhood, a passion passed down from my mother. The Arabian horse, with its beauty, intelligence, and spirit, captured my soul completely.
For over four decades, I have bred, shown, and celebrated Arabians across Australia and internationally, from European, French National Championships and Menton to local triumphs. My journey has taken me to prestigious events multiple times, such as Scottsdale, Breeders’ Cup, Egyptian Events, and numerous Regional and National Championships, from the Middle East and beyond, embracing the full spectrum of the Arabian’s greatness in breed, show, performance, endurance, and racing disciplines.
I have dedicated decades of service to the Arabian community as show secretary, announcer, publicity officer, committee member, and more. Professionally, my Diploma in Business led to a rewarding career in sales, marketing, photography, and media, including over a decade with the HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan events globally.
Though a life-altering accident changed my path, my devotion remains unwavering. The Arabian horse is my lifelong passion. I offer my experience for the future of the AHSA.
Yours sincerely,
Nadine Frampton
Sally Harvey
Obsessed with horses from the age of 7, it wasn’t until her late teens that Sally Harvey (and her two younger sisters) acquired their first horses. A stroppy Standard-bred mare and an unregistered Arabian pony. The inevitable progression to registered part-Arabian and then her first pure-bred mare happened in 1980.
Unfortunately, life intervened and her equine interests were put on hold for almost 30 years. The dream was in hiatus, but not the passion.
An RMIT graduate of Textile Design, Sally is a self-employed textile designer and printer.
The Arabian dream was reborn in 2014, with a relocation to Mansfield, in the Victorian High Country.
Sally, with support from husband Chuck Wark, owns Sa’Vey Arabians.
With fresh but commercially experienced eyes, Sally’s interest is in promoting the breed to new markets, in particular engaging with and encouraging other returning enthusiasts like herself.
