The Board of the AHSA and the office staff, together with members of the AHSA wish to pass on their condolences to Mary and her family after Jim passed away on 14th July 2024 after a lengthy illness.
Jim, together with wife Mary, were stalwart members of the Society and received the Distinguished Service Award in 2022.
Together, the Arabians they bred carrying the Aloha prefix have made their mark worldwide. Their purebreds and Derivatives have achieved at the highest levels in the show ring, with too many Australian Championships to count, and their saddle horses have long graced our show scene and left their mark as elite endurance horses around the world.
Not being content to compete in halter, saddle and endurance, Aloha horses have won Championships in Harness and won flat races.
Jim will be remembered as ‘the perfect gentleman’ – always ready with a smile and a helping hand. Together with Mary, Jim’s contribution to the Arabian scene is almost impossible to measure and he will be very sadly missed by many.
